Here you will find all the information you need regarding our hours of operation, as well as the actions we are taking to provide a safe and healthy environment for our employees, guests, and event participants. We encourage you to review our protocols, as well as our policies and procedures, prior to your arrival at the HMC.

PLEASE NOTE: On guidance from the State of Alabama, a mask is required to enter the Finley Center, and during check-in and check-out. Masks are not required while actively participating in physical activity.
A mask is required at the Playground & Splash Pad, unless actively engaged in play within the Splash Pad.
A mask is also required for spectators at competitive events.

THE FINLEY CENTER
Walking Track 
Monday – Thursday, 6am – 9pm
Friday, 6am – 6pm

PLEASE NOTE: Hours and availability are subject to change based on events. 
CLOSED: The Track will be closed September 24 – 27 due to an event. Normal hours resume Monday, September 28. On Thursday, October 1, The track will close at 3pm for an event, and will remain closed through October 4. Normal hours resume Monday, October 5. On October 9, the Track will close at 11am for event setup, and remain closed through October 11. Normal hours resume Monday, October 12.

Hoover Climbing & Adventure
Monday – Friday, 3 – 8pm

Pickleball

CLOSED: Pickleball courts will be unavailable September 22 – 27 due to an event. Normal hours will resume Monday, September 28. On Thursday, October 1, pickleball courts will close at 12pm for an event, and will remain closed through October 4. Normal hours resume Monday, October 5. Pickleball courts will be unavailable October 8 – 11 due to an event. Normal hours resume Monday, October 12.

What We Are Doing

In order to focus on your continued health and wellbeing, as well as that of our employees, the Hoover Met Complex has undertaken various measures to be a clean complex.

  • Routine washing down of all flat surfaces
  • Pressure washing and disinfecting of dugouts, bleachers, and other such areas
  • Additional cleanings of all bathrooms both during and between events 
  • Sanitation stations located throughout the complex, including at all Concession Stands
  • Signage in all restrooms regarding best practices for hand washing and sanitizing 
  • Limited spectator capacity within the complex
  • Event staff is required to wear face masks.

Policies & Procedures

We ask that all visitors to the Hoover Met Complex, and all participants in events held onsite, review these policies and procedures prior to arrival.

Visitors:

  • Spectators are encouraged to pay via credit card, cash app, or PayPal, or pay in advance. If using cash, it must be exact change
  • Social distancing in common areas such as bathrooms, concession areas, at the doors/gates, etc. 
  • Social distancing in spectator areas to stand or sit
  • Spectators for competitive events will be required to wear a mask
  • In the event that you are sick, or showing any symptoms of illness, we ask that you please not travel for a tournament, or visit the Hoover Met Complex

Event Participants:

  • Athletes must bring their own water source – there will be no team or shared coolers. Water and sport beverages are available for purchase onsite
  • No outside basketballs or volleyballs will be allowed inside The Finley Center
  • There will be no handshake line following any game or match
  • No handshakes or high fives before, during, or after games or matches
  • No team huddles
  • There will be no sharing of equipment
  • We have implemented format changes to minimize time in the complex
  • Coaches, players, and officials not directly participating in athletic activity will be required to wear a mask
  • For baseball, a new or clean ball will be used between each inning
  • No seed spitting will be allowed. 
  • For baseball, no players will be allowed at home plate meetings
  • For baseball, a 6-foot distance between umpires and coaches is required at home plate meetings
  • For baseball, digital scorecards will be utilized. 
  • For baseball, licking or spitting on the fingers or hands will require an immediate substitution. 
  • For baseball, mound visits are limited to pitcher, catcher, and coach
  • In the event that you are sick, or showing any symptoms of illness, we ask that you please not travel for a tournament, or visit the Hoover Met Complex

 All guests must abide by the these rules at all times. These are posted throughout the complex.

Athletes ages 18 & under must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver prior to participation.
