HMC Summer Sports Camp 2026
Join us this summer for seven weeks of active and engaging multi-sport camps! Our staff will introduce the fundamentals and game-specific skills used in traditional indoor and outdoor sports to help campers excel and have fun!
Each weekly camp will encompass a variety of focused sports play with instruction that promotes physical fitness, nutrition awareness, self-confidence, self-discipline, teaming & leadership.
Campers will have the added benefit of participating in free play, STEM activities with real-world applications to sports, and self-select games/activities that interest them.

2025 Important Camp Information
Summer Camp Hours:
Our camps are held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Campers should arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. We do offer a Before and After Care Program for those families who need their campers to spend a little extra time with us.
- 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. (before care)
- 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (pick-up by 4:30 p.m.)
- 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (aftercare)

Eligibility
Girls and Boys entering 1st grade through 7th grades for the upcoming school year 2025-26. **Must be 6 years old by 6/2/25 NO EXCEPTIONS**
2025 Camp Fees
- $75 one-time, non-refundable camp registration fee per child paid once. Each participant receives one t-shirt with camp registration.
- $205 Early Bird Camp Tuition Special if registered by March 31, 2025
- $240 Regular Rate Camp Tuition beginning April 1, 2025
- *Siblings will receive a 10% discount off tuition only.
Optional Weekly Costs
- Lunch – $40 (This fee includes a hot lunch entree with two side items)
- Lunch Plus –$60 (This fee includes larger food entrees with two side items)
- Before or After Care – $15
- Both Before & After care – $30
- Lunches will be provided by Beef O’Bradys, Cajun Roux, Papa John’s Pizza, and the HMC Food Court.
Payments
Full payment will be required at the time of registration. All fees must be made via electronic payment using a credit/debit card.
Camp Capacity and Waiting List
Each week of camp will have a maximum capacity of 95 campers. Once camp is full, a child can be placed on the waiting list at no charge by emailing [email protected]. When a spot opens for that week, parents/guardians will be contacted in the order their request was received. Full payment would be required to register at that time.
Transfer Policy
We understand that family plans are ever-evolving in the summer. We always want to be as flexible as possible with our camp families and accommodate situations that arise that are beyond your control. Should there be a need to transfer to a different week, the request must be made in writing one week prior to the week being transferred from. If the transfer is approved, notification will be made via email within 48 hours of the request. There is no charge for families who need to switch their camp week if space is available.
Cancelation Policy/Fees
If the Hoover Met Complex must cancel camp, a tuition refund will be provided for the missed days. If a parent/guardian wishes to cancel a camp, two weeks’ written notice is required, and the following cancellation fees will be assessed:

Week 1: June 2-6
“Ready, Set, Here we Go!”
“Kick” off summer and meet new friends playing your favorite sports, games and activities. Some activities include but are not limited to… Capture the Flag, Spud, Tag, relay races, whiffle ball, kickball, dodgeball, and more. There’s no better way to start the summer than being active and in game mode!
Week 2: June 9-12
“Stick to It”
You will want to get in the game for this week of camp! We will explore the world of stick sports to include lacrosse and indoor hockey.
Week 3: June 16-20
“Full Court Fun”
Get ready to move, groove, and hustle! Basketball will be the focus of this camp, but the excitement doesn’t stop there. This week is all about playing hard, having fun, and supporting each other as you work together on and off the court. Whether you’re shooting hoops or making new friends, teamwork is the key to success!
Week 4: June 23-27
“Get in the Game of Racquets and Clubs”
You have met your match with this camp! Get your game face on and match up for some healthy competition on the Tennis court and our greens for golf!
Week 5: July 7-11
“Take Me Out to the Ball Game”
Step up to the plate for a week full of baseball fun! Whether you’re swinging for the fences or learning new skills, this camp is all about teamwork, sportsmanship, and enjoying America’s favorite pastime. Let’s play ball!
Week 6: July 14-18
“Hoops, They Did it Again”
Basketball is the focus, but other “hoops” will find their way in our day. Working together and being part of a team are keys to your success this week.
Week 7: July 21-25
“One Amazing Race”
You will be set in motion on an adventurous journey known as the Amazing Race right to the finish! Your team will compete in age-appropriate fitness and sports challenges designed to inspire and excite. Games may include obstacle courses, relays, tug-of-war, and more designed to foster cooperation and teamwork.
What to bring:
- Appropriate athletic clothing must be worn during camp.
- Any violation will result in the parent/guardian called to bring appropriate clothes or pick the camper up from camp.
- Sneakers/tennis shoes must be worn to participate in camp — open-toe shoes are not allowed
- Campers should bring a backpack to house their swimsuit & towel
- Water bottle – labeled with first and last name
- Two snacks are encouraged for morning and afternoon breaks
- All items must be kept in closed containers and placed in a backpack
What NOT to bring:
- Valuables including: jewelry, money, smartphones, cameras, toys. These items can easily be lost or broken. HMC Staff are NOT responsible for keeping up with a camper’s personal possessions.
- If items are found at camp, they will be turned in to the Camp Coordinator and given back to the camper at the end of the day.
- No weapons, sharp objects or other hazardous items will be permitted at camp or on the grounds of the Hoover Met Complex. Any individual in violation of this policy will be removed from camp immediately without a refund of any kind.

Meet the people behind our summer camps

LORI CORRIGAN
Summer Camp Coordinator
Lori returns for a fourth summer as the Summer Sports Camp Coordinator. She has worked part-time for the Hoover Met Complex since September 2018 as a Guest Services team member and as Box Office shift lead. She has enjoyed working at sporting/non-sporting events at the complex over the years.
Lori has an extensive background in education and spent most of her 25+ year career as an Enrichment Specialist in the Hoover City School System. She spent more than 10 years teaching students from underserved communities in specialized summer enrichment programs at the Children’s Fresh Air Farm in Hoover and through the Summer Advantage program in Birmingham, Alabama.
Lori earned her Bachelor of Science from The College of St. Rose, in Albany NY, double majoring in Elementary Education/English. She earned a Master of Arts in Special Education/Gifted Education from the University of Alabama and has earned an Education Specialist degree in Educational Technology, from Lesley University, in Boston, MA.
Lori lives in Hoover and has four children. She enjoys spending time at the beach, attending Alabama football games, swimming, and playing golf.

amyah Ellington
Summer Camp Counselor
Amyah returns to the Hoover Met Complex camp staff for a third summer as a camp counselor. She is an upcoming junior at Louisiana State University, majoring in Sports Administration. Amyah is a graduate of Hoover High School and was a member of the varsity track team. She loves all things sports, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to return to sports camp again this summer.

Anna Eiswirth
Summer Camp Counselor
Anna returns to the Hoover Met Complex camp staff for a second summer. She currently attends Auburn University and is studying business. She plans to enter the field of Sports Marketing in the future. Anna has played various sports throughout her life, loves the outdoors, and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Braden Sullivan
Braden returns to the Hoover Met Complex camp staff as a camp counselor for a second summer. He attends Jeff State and wishes to become a sports broadcaster. Braden is an active member at his church and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He’s excited to work with our campers again this summer!

BRODY STACEY
Brody has worked part-time for over two years at the Hoover Met Complex in the Hoover Heights Climbing Center. He rejoins the summer camp staff for a third summer as a camp counselor. He attends Auburn University. Brody plays football and enjoys a variety of other sports. He is looking forward to sharing his athletic abilities once again with our campers this summer!

Jackson Corrigan
Summer Camp Counselor
Jackson returns to our team for a second summer as a camp counselor. He has worked part-time for the Hoover Met Complex in the past as an operations and event team member. Jackson attends Shelton State Community College and plans to transfer to the University of Alabama next year, majoring in Business. Jackson played club lacrosse throughout his high school years and currently stays active by running and working out. He enjoys attending Alabama football games and spending time with his family and friends.

Julian Gilstrap
Summer Camp Counselor
Julian returns to the Hoover Met Complex summer camp staff as a camp counselor. He attends Auburn University where he is a member of the Honors College program and is majoring in Biomedical Sciences. He is a part of Project Uplift in the Auburn area and volunteers at the Care Humane Society. Julian also enjoys card games with his family, playing intramural sports with his friends, and playing with his dogs. He’s looking forward to another fun and exciting summer.

Kamryn Lee
Summer Camp Counselor
Kamryn returns to our team as a summer camp counselor. She has worked part-time for the Hoover Met Complex as an event team member, box office ticket seller, and Hoover Heights Climbing Center staff member. Kamryn attends the University of Alabama and is majoring in Business. Kamryn played basketball for the Lady Bucs at Hoover High School who won four consecutive state titles! She is looking forward to having another amazing summer with our campers!

PYPER SHEPARD
Summer Camp Counselor
Pyper has worked part-time for the Hoover Met Complex for more than three years, as an event team member, box office ticket seller, and as a member of the Hoover Heights Climbing Center staff. This summer marks her fourth year returning as a camp counselor. Pyper attends Alcorn State University in Mississippi and plans to become a physical therapist in the future. She enjoys basketball, reading, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Ramey Copeland
Summer Camp Counselor
Ramey returns to the Hoover Met Complex staff for a second summer as a summer camp counselor. She attends The University of Alabama and is studying Kinesiology. She plans to become an Athletic Trainer in the future. Ramey was a member of the girls' softball team when she attended McAdory High School. She enjoys art and spending time with friends and family. She is looking forward to working with our campers again this summer!
