Finley Awards Senior Breakfast

Finley Awards Senior Breakfast: Honoring Character and Integrity
The annual Finley Awards Senior Breakfast is a cherished Hoover tradition dedicated to recognizing the outstanding character of graduating seniors. Organized by Hoover City Schools and held at the Finley Center, this event highlights students who lead with integrity, compassion, and perseverance both in and out of the classroom.
As part of the broader Finley Character Awards program, the breakfast provides a dedicated space for students, faculty, and the community to gather and celebrate the values that define the local school system.
Celebrating the Legacy of Bob Finley
The Finley Awards Senior Breakfast is named in honor of Bob Finley, the longtime head coach at W.A. Berry High School. Coach Finley was known for his belief that character matters more than “star status.” Today, these awards remain the highest honor a student or employee can receive within the Hoover City Schools system.
The breakfast serves to recognize those who have consistently demonstrated the “Finley Way”, showing kindness to others, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right.
Attendance and Venue Information
Participation in the Finley Awards Senior Breakfast is typically by invitation for nominees, their families, and school officials. The Finley Center provides ample parking and professional facilities to accommodate this large-scale community gathering.
